How to Choose a PMU Machine: U1, TP010, P90 Pro or TP006

Choose adjustable response, light fixed-stroke handling, two grip routes or updated controls. Compare four Biomaser machines and build the cartridge and power setup.

Editorial equipment shortlist notebook separating needle fit stroke choice and the selected power or kit option

Choose Biomaser U1 for adjustable working response, TP010 for a light fixed-stroke pen, P90 Pro for universal and BMX threaded cartridge routes, or TP006 Gen 2 for a fixed-stroke setup with updated controls. Begin with the feature you will use during the appointment, then choose the cartridge and battery package around it. This gives each machine a reason to be on your shortlist.

A PMU pen should support the marks you make and the way you hold and power the equipment. For an artist moving between hair strokes and shaded coverage, adjustment can be valuable. For someone who prefers a familiar fixed response, a simpler pen may be the more purposeful purchase.

Four machines, four clear reasons to choose

Biomaser U1

Working platform
Six stroke settings, 2.0–3.5 mm; universal cartridges; two-battery base package
Why choose it?
Change mechanical response within one pen.

Biomaser TP010

Working platform
Fixed 3.0 mm stroke; universal cartridges; 116 g working body
Why choose it?
A light, focused fixed-stroke setup.

Biomaser P90 Pro

Working platform
Fixed 3.0 mm stroke; universal and BMX threaded grips
Why choose it?
Keep both supported cartridge routes in one machine.

Biomaser TP006

Working platform
Fixed 3.0 mm stroke; universal cartridges; Classic or Gen 2
Why choose it?
Choose the fixed-response platform and generation controls you prefer.

Our starting choice for adjustable universal work is U1. If adjustment is not part of your routine, use weight, grip connection and controls to choose among the fixed-stroke routes.

Give each machine a reason to remain on your shortlist: needle fit, stroke choice and the exact option you will receive.

U1: adjustment for a routine that changes

U1 offers six settings from 2.0 to 3.5 mm. Stroke is the mechanical travel of the drive during a cycle; it gives you a way to change the pen's response while keeping the same machine and universal cartridge system.

Choose it when you want to compare responses as your technique moves between selective detail and coverage. Pair the machine with a cartridge whose working shape serves that task. The stroke control and cartridge arrangement are complementary choices: one changes the drive, the other the working tip.

The two-battery base package supports rotation between working periods. Add the Black, Pink or Coffee RCA accessory package when a supported wired workstation is also in your plan.

Continue with the U1 stroke and setup guide when you are ready to choose its working configuration.

TP010: a light, familiar fixed response

The TP010 brings a fixed 3.0 mm stroke and a 116 g working body to the universal cartridge route. Choose it when you want a light pen and prefer to develop your technique around one consistent mechanical travel.

Its one- and two-battery packages let you select the power arrangement separately. Start with two for a ready battery to rotate; choose one if the working schedule offers a dependable recharge interval. The two-battery-plus-RCA options add the named wired accessory.

P90 Pro: two supported cartridge systems

The P90 Pro is our choice when you want both universal and ATTO BMX threaded cartridges. It uses separate matching grips for those routes while keeping a fixed 3.0 mm stroke.

This is a meaningful purchase for a studio that already stocks BMX or wants that range alongside universal cartridges. Use the universal grip for the universal route and the threaded grip for the specified BMX range. Choose one or two batteries for the routine you want to maintain.

TP006: choose the generation for its controls

The TP006 offers Classic and Gen 2 around a fixed 3.0 mm stroke and universal connection. Gen 2 adds a colour display and wider voltage adjustment range. Start with Gen 2 when those controls matter to your daily use; choose Classic when its simpler arrangement is the one you prefer.

Both generations offer two batteries, two batteries plus RCA or a Professional Kit. Choose the pen-and-power setup when the studio already has the other materials. Choose the kit when its included supplies are part of the equipment you are assembling.

For a bundled setup, use the PMU kit contents guide to give the included cartridges, colour and practice materials a clear job.

Complete the pen with a purposeful cartridge

For fine individual brow strokes on the universal route, start with Pinky Pro 1R: 0.20 mm for the finer point or 0.25 mm for more needle body. Choose a round shader or wider arrangement for the parts of the design requiring coverage. The cartridge guide develops those selections.

ATTO needles use 304 stainless steel and EO sterilisation. Pinky Pro and Ultra add silicone safety membranes and transparent medical-grade PC housings; Ultra has the highest needle hardness and toughness in ATTO's cartridge range. Those are concrete quality reasons to build the pen around a professional working tip.

Make the final choice

Start with U1 for adjustment. Move to TP010 for light fixed-stroke handling, P90 Pro for its two grip routes, or TP006 Gen 2 for the fixed platform and updated controls. Then choose your regular cartridge and power package. Use the battery-package guide if charging rotation is the remaining decision.

Frequently asked questions

Does stroke specify implantation depth?

Stroke describes mechanical travel. Needle protrusion, hand movement and the trained technique determine how that drive is used; choose the stroke platform for the response you want to work with.

Is an adjustable machine always the better purchase?

Choose adjustment when you will use it. A fixed-stroke pen is a purposeful alternative for a familiar response, with weight, controls or grip routes deciding the model.

Which machine supports the listed BMX cartridges?

P90 Pro uses its corresponding threaded grip for the ATTO BMX range and its separate universal grip for universal cartridges.
