A useful practice session leaves you with marks you can compare. This flat silicone sheet gives line work, shading and fill studies their own space, with room to place repeated attempts beside one another. Choose 20 × 15 cm for compact exercises or 30 × 20 cm for a larger design and more comparison space.

Two five-sheet packs: ten blank 3 mm surfaces for fill studies.
1003RS: 20 cartridges for compact colour areas.
1005M1: 20 cartridges for broader colour packing.
1007RM: 20 cartridges for soft-edge gradients.
White 30 ml practice ink for tonal studies on synthetic surfaces.
20 A4 thermal sheets to prepare practice outlines.
30 ml transfer gel for placing the practice outline.
100 cups to keep black, white and red separate.
Black practice ink gives outlines and dark shapes a clear comparison on synthetic surfaces.
Plan a short sequence: straight lines, a repeated curve or a small shaded area. Place the attempts side by side and inspect how the starts, spacing and finishes change. Keeping the design section consistent makes the comparison useful; change one part of your approach, then repeat the same section rather than starting a different drawing.
Start with 20 × 15 cm when your session centres on compact line studies or small fills. Choose 30 × 20 cm when the stencil or a series of comparisons needs more room. The larger option provides twice the sheet area, 600 cm² rather than 300 cm², making it the stronger choice for a design you want to practise as a whole.
Choose 20 × 15 cm for focused studies; choose 30 × 20 cm for a larger composition. Select your practice option above.
Use a flat sheet when comparing the marks side by side is the main task. Move a familiar exercise to the hand model when design placement around a contour and your support position become the focus. This gives each practice surface a clear role in your routine.
